Royal Wedding Bank Holidays Announced

Posted on by

Following the engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton, their wedding day has been set for Friday, 29th April at Westminster Abbey and this has been declared a public holiday. The chosen date will mean there will be two four-day public holidays on two successive weekends. The weekend before is Easter and 2nd May is the Spring Bank Holiday. This will be a very attractive time for employees to request time off as they would only need to use up three days of their holiday entitlement on 26th, 27th and 28th April to get an 11-day break. Think ahead and issue guidelines now on how you will allocate holiday to ensure that you are adequately covered over this period.
