Q: We are used to seeing the titles “Mr”, “Mrs”, “Miss” and even “Ms” but what on earth does “Mx” mean?

A:
In May 2015, the title MX was introduced across the UK having been accepted by the Department for Work and Pensions, HMRC, DVLA, NHS, passport office, other local government organisations and banks. This title is used by individuals who do not wish to specifically reveal their actual gender, those who do not identify themselves as either masculine or feminine and some transgender individuals.

It is pronounced as “Mix” or “Mux”.
