One of the key challenges for HR professionals during 2014 will be to find ways of helping Senior Management to bridge the generation gap. This will mean looking after both younger and older workers as the trend of an ageing workforce gathers pace.
Employers need to consider their recruitment and retention strategies to appeal to young, budding talent. Commensurately, their HR strategies must ensure the skills of older workers are not overlooked, but maximised to full potential. The contributions of both younger and older workers are invaluable and with the right mix, can be of reciprocal benefit.
