A New Wage Incentive Scheme for Employing Young Disabled Workers

Posted on by

A specialist disability employment programme, Work Choice, has been launched to provide individually tailored support to help disabled people who have very complex support needs to find employment whereby a payment of up to £2,275 will be made available for employers who recruit young disabled people. The additional support for young disabled people will sit alongside the Youth Contract which was recently launched to boost the employment prospects of young job seekers. Addressing youth unemployment is a key priority for the Government who are hoping this wage incentive will encourage employers to hire more disabled young people. This incentive will be available in July.
