Q: Is it possible to terminate the employment of an employee who is only part-way through their probationary period? A: It is absolutely fine to terminate an employee during their probationary period provided there is no discrimination on the basis of disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, race, marital status, religion or belief or gender reassignment. It is best practice however to work with the employee to help them to meet your expectations before considering termination.
