National Apprenticeship Week

This week (commencing 6th February 2012) is the fifth National Apprenticeship Week to raise the profile of apprenticeships amongst employers, employees, teachers, parents and the media. Apprenticeship offer young people an affordable direct route into a skilled career and is a good alternative to a University education. They are also an excellent means of employers developing talent within their business. The Government see apprenticeships as a means to help rebalance the economy by giving more opportunities to young people and reducing the problems of youth unemployment. If you are considering taking on an apprentice, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) have produced a very helpful guide for employers offering objective support and addressing some of the concerns raised by employers which you can download here
